Uppinangady Church witnessed a grand and spiritually enriching celebration of the Solemnity of Christ the King and Confraternity Sunday on Sunday. The occasion was marked by deep devotion, active participation of the faithful, and a strong sense of parish unity.
The Holy Eucharistic Mass was solemnly presided over by Rev. Fr. Arun Wilson Lobo, Principal of Padua College of Commerce and Management, Mangaluru, along with the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Gerald D’Souza.
In his inspiring homily, Fr. Arun Wilson Lobo emphasized the profound significance of the Holy Eucharist in the lives of the faithful. Drawing from historical examples, he highlighted how the Eucharist has strengthened and transformed lives across generations. Quoting, “The Holy Eucharist is the ultimate medicine for everlasting life,” he urged the congregation to deepen their faith and devotion.
Following the Holy Mass, a brief Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament was held. This was followed by a solemn Eucharistic procession through the streets of Uppinangady town. The Blessed Sacrament, reverently displayed in a beautifully adorned monstrance placed on a decorative vehicle, was accompanied by the clergy and a large gathering of faithful.
The procession was prayerful and vibrant, with the Blue Brass Band, Badyar, providing musical accompaniment throughout, adding solemnity and grace to the event. The procession served as a public expression of faith and a prayerful invocation seeking God’s blessings upon the town and its residents.
The celebration concluded with Benediction at the church, followed by refreshments for all attendees. The event proved to be a spiritually uplifting and communal experience, strengthening faith, devotion, and unity among the parishioners.
