Welcome of the New Parish Priest

On May 19, 2024, Rev. Fr Gerald Dsouza officially took charge as the Parish Priest of Our Lady Virgin of the Poor Church, Uppinangady. The occasion began with a prayer service at Mother of God Church, Shakthinagar, led by Rev. Fr Pramod Crasta and Rev. Fr Vincent Saldanha. Parishioners joined the procession accompanying Fr Gerald, who imparted his blessings.

At Uppinangady, he was warmly welcomed by the outgoing Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Abel Lobo, along with parish leaders and faithful. The ceremony was graced by Rev. Fr Stany Pinto, Campus Director of St Philomena College, Puttur, and Rev. Fr Lohith Ajay Mascarenhas, Assistant Parish Priest of Mai de Deus Church, Puttur.
